DAY OF STITCH SATURDAY 5TH AUGUST

On Saturday 5th August at Guisborough Forest and Walkway, Pinchinthorpe we are having our annual Day of Stitch.  This years theme is Butterflies.   
Everyone is welcome to come along and have a go at making your own butterfly.

We are coming to the end of our latest round of travelling books.  Over the Summer break we are going to stitch the last pieces and in September have a display of all the books and then they will go to their owners.

Saturday 1st July ANNE MENARY FABRIC OF THE UNIVERSE


On Saturday our speaker was Anne Menary who showed us a very surprising amount of hand stitched work.   One set of four with 13 pieces in each section were done one a week over one year.  Some of them are shown below.






 All of these pieces were stitched together with herringbone stitch.  They were not padded but were quite supple so they would fold easily for storage.
