SUNDAY 12TH FEBRUARY ZHEN XIAN BAO

ZHEN XIAN BAO or Chinese Embroidery Thread Wallets.
We had an extremely interesting and very different dayschool with one of our members, Jennifer Creek.
Jennifer had made us kits which must have taken her such a long time to mark and cut out so when our dayschool started we were able to begin putting the wallets together straight away.
It was very pleasant to all be able to sit around one big table and work along together.  We worked at a nice steady pace and gradually put our wallets together.  Most unusual for us all to have finished on the day; there is normally plenty to finish off at home.  Jennifer also brought along a couple of books on Chinese local costumes and embroidery and one on wallets/books in all shapes and sizes.  A thoroughly enjoyable and successful day for everyone.

MONDAY 9TH JANUARY 2017 STUMPWORK PANSY

Lynda started a workshop with us on Monday 9th January.  Our first workshop in the New Year.  Several of us haven't tried this technique before so it was definitely a morning of concentration.
It certainly makes you practice buttonhole stitch.  The next session is on Monday 13th February.

SATURDAY 4TH FEBRUARY DONNA CHESHIRE STITCHING STORIES

We had a very interesting afternoon with Donna Cheshre.  She was so informative about the whole process of producing her work and also discussing the marketing and sales aspects of her business.
We usually only hear about the creative side of our guest speakers so it was extremely interesting to hear all aspects,  as Donna illustrated with her pie chart divided up into all the various segments.

Donna seems to be another of those ladies who has 48 hours in the day.  It was a lovely afternoon that everyone thoroughly enjoyed.
