DAY SCHOOL WITH JULIA TRISTON Sunday 8th May

We had a lovely dayschool with Julia.  Exploring Identity with Cloth and Thread.
Julia had asked us to bring old denim, underwear, lace, table linen, in fact all sorts of
items that would perhaps go to the charity shop or bin.

The day started with us dismantling some of our items and then putting them back together
in an entirely different way.

Most are still works in progress but we accomplished a lot on what was an inspiringday.

MAY MEETING WITH JULIA TRISTON

Julia Triston was our guest speaker at May's meeting.  Her talk was on Identity and Intimacy.
Julia talked about her journey in textiles, identity, gender and sustainability using second-hand clothing, old linen, vintage lace and worn underwear.

These textiles are then transformed into new artworks with changed identity.
Julia certainly made us look at our clothes in a totally different way.
